About G n’ S Projects
G n’ S Projects use popular culture and iconic imagery to create a “pop surrealist” narrative on the human experience. The work is at once provocative and playful, combining sex, poetry, and socio-political commentary to challenge the viewer’s curiosity of life in general.
By repositioning images and text found through a variety of mediums, a visual banter is sustained. The incorporation of the computer-generated image gives them the flexibility to create unlimited combinations of juxtaposed images; a valuable tool in this dialogue, which is finally realized in acrylic on canvas. This intuitive, tandem approach creates a vivid narrative that leaves the viewer emotionally and intellectually aroused.
G n’ S Projects (Husband and Wife Artist Duo) have enjoyed many exhibitions in Toronto, have been included in group shows internationally, and have had their work acquired by The Bruce Bailey Collection, among others.
Gwendolyn Healey studied at Champlain Region College in their Fine Arts Program and at the Ontario College of Art and Design in their Communication and Design Program. She has been painting figurative work since she was a child. Her solo work has been in many group shows and had her first exhibition at the ArtCenter/South Florida in Miami where she was doing an Artist in Residency.
Sean D’Andrade is self-taught. For many years, he has created artwork with found objects and collage and had his first solo show back in 1997. He has also been an avid contemporary art collector for 20 years, acquiring works from some well-known artists such as Katherine Bernhardt, Paul P, Nan Goldin, Jason Fox, Huma Bhabha, and Anthony Goicolea.
